Grupo Corpo kicks up their heels in Ann Arbor this weekend to show us Michiganders what the stunning (sexy!) physicality of Brazilian modern dance is all about. Translated literally to “Body Group,” Grupo Corpo seamlessly blends the grace of ballet, the verve of modern dance, and the hip-swiveling exuberance of Carnival sambas and the group’s Afro-Brazilian roots. Not only is the dance incredible, the rhythm is simply undeniable. No joke: this is the cure for seasonal affective disorder.
