I have just spoken with the angelic chorus and have asked that the final 5 minutes of Brahms Second be played as I walk through the pearly gates. I am looking forward to it.

Phenomenal musicianship and wonderful fun. A great great evening of music and song. I wanted to dance, wish there had been a dance floor. Bring them back and have the concert in the Michigan Union Ballroom….please!!!

A perfect evening. Max Raab and his outstanding group of musicians are a welcome addition to the UMS roster. By far the cheapest bit of time travel I’ve ever done. Looking forward to their next appearance in Ann Arbor.

Great show. Tonto & I enjoyed every bit. We grew up with Lawrence Welk on the dude ranch & is good to see some real German music. Thanks for the opportunity to be photographed in20′s garb in the lobby. Wore some period pieces ourselves. Question, some of the songs were from 1934… The Weimar Republic ended in 1933. Germany came under new management.

Ann Arbor/UMS: the closest thing to heaven:
Friday night: Chicago Symphony to inspire and enthrall. Pure musical bliss.
Saturday: Max Raabe and his Palast Orchester to transport one to another time and place with extraordinary charm, wit, originality and musicianship.
As ever, thank you Ken and Michael, and the entire UMS team for bringing us the greatest performers in the world!

Leave it to the Germans to weaponize charisma! Max Raabe’s lazy charm is addictive, and there’s nothing so entrancing as world-class artists having great fun doing what they do best. Bring them back, I’ll be there every time!
