People Are Talking: UMS presents The San Francisco Symphony American Mavericks Festival:
Wow! What an experience this was! I had the pleasure of hearing the concerts on Friday night and on Sunday. From the spectacle that was Cage’s Songbooks to the collaboration of strings, voice, and electronics in Subotnik’s Jacob’s Room, the SFS put on a terrific festival. It was very exciting to hear these pieces performed at such a high level when they are so rarely performed at all! I am thrilled to have been a part of the weekend!

Wow! I absolutely loved the performance! The blend of the movement, music and lighting (such a cool light board!) was mesmerizing! I was transfixed for the entire performance and hope to explore more of Random Dance productions! What a show!
People Are Talking: UMS presents The Tallis Scholars at The St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church:
What a wonderful concert! The Tallis Scholars, were spectacular- as always. I certainly enjoyed the program overall, particularly the Gesualdo- I wouldn’t have minded if the whole concert was his work! I certainly hope the group continues to return to Ann Arbor!
People Are Talking: UMS presents The Hamburg Symphony Orchestra: From the Canyons to the Stars:
I found myself going back and forth between the music and the video. I found each was artful and mesmerizing in its own way, but when the two occurred simultaneously, each distracted me from the other. The Symphony gave a tremendous performance nonetheless- certainly an experience!
People Are Talking [and Video Booth]: Einstein on the Beach at Power Center:
Despite having some idea of what the show was to entail before seeing it, I was still blown away by the incredible combination of music, dance, lighting, etc. While I did find some of the actions and staging to be a bit “out there”, I was constantly captivated by the outstandanding production of sights and sounds. This was an incredible experience that I am thrilled to have been a part of!
